Came across this posting by Guy Kawasaki about 10 ways to make better use of LinkedIn.
“However, it is a tool that is under-utilized, so I’ve compiled a top-ten list of ways to increase the value of LinkedIn.
- Increase your visibility – by adding connections
- Improve your connectability – by being complete in the info you fill
- Improve your Google PageRank – since LinkedIn allows you to make your profile information available for search engines to index.
- Enhance your search engine results – by promoting your blog or website thru your LinkedIn profile
- Perform blind, “reverse,” and company reference checks
- Increase the relevancy of your job search.
- Make your interview go smoother – by using LinkedIn for research about your interviewer
- Gauge the health of a company & Gauge the health of an industry
- Track startups.
These are good tips for all of us. Have you found that there are others that are useful for you? My biggest love for LinkedIn is to make it easy for my connections to see who can help them.
I also enjoy LinkedIn for the Answers feature, where you can ask folks in your network a question and get amazing feedback, sometimes 2 and 3 levels down.
Thanks for dropping by Phil.
